Schools Book Project
The aim of LMI’s Schools Book Project is to raise sponsorship to enable its Youth & Schools Outreach Team to distribute Christian books to pupils that they meet during the course of their work in schools. What an amazing opportunity LMI has to share the love of Christ and the truth of scripture to thousands of pupils each year through testimonies, and a variety of specially developed sessions that address issues affecting young people.
While we recognize that just one session in a school assembly, RE lesson, lunchtime or afterschool club can have an impact for the Kingdom of God, we also see that being able to leave a pupil with a challenging book is also of great and lasting benefit as the truths of what the team speak about are expounded and developed as the young person reads. This is why we are passionate about the Schools Book Project, and we believe that it could be of significance in pointing young people to Christ. However, we cannot do this alone, we need your help!

Currently three books feature in the Schools Book Project. The first book is called Seriously Rich by Richard Pidgley, which documents the author’s gripping life story of how God transformed his life from crime and drug abuse to service for God. Richard is now a pastor and a LMI Mission Associate, and has travelled to various countries with LMI’s Overseas Ministry Programme.
The second book of the project is Toward the Goal The Kaka Story by Jeremy V. Jones. It is the story of international football star and 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year, Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (or Kaka as he is more commonly known). His uniqueness not only lies in his footballing talent but in his love for Jesus.
The last book that features in the project is Made to be Me by Shell Perris. This book is for girls and it documents Shell’s growing up years, which included the stress of being bullied and battling an eating disorder. It is a book about hope and how God totally changed her life. Shell is now a singer, songwriter and evangelist.
