The idyllic surroundings of Castlewellan Castle in County Down have provided an amazing location for many YEMF & LMI events over the years.

In the 80s, YEMF held regular gatherings at the castle, when young people came together to worship, pray, study, hear from missionaries and enjoy quality downtime together. Both home-grown missionaries and speakers from far-flung corners of the world challenged those gathered to think about the role they could play in global mission, and several baptisms took place over the years in the beautiful (but cold!) Castlewellan Lake ✝️

In recent years, LMI’s Youth & School’s Outreach Team have taken part in school residentials held at the castle, and it has also been the location of the annual LMI retreat, when our Executive, staff and volunteers come together outside the office to pray, be challenged from God’s word and enjoy some fun and fellowship.

If you have ever been to Castlewellan Castle, then you’ll know what a special place it is, and if you haven’t, it’s definitely worth checking out 🌅👀
