LMI's A Word For Your Week Devotional taken from 2nd Timothy 3:14-15

'But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus'.  - 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (ESV)

These verses are part of Paul’s advice to Timothy, a young pastor in Ephesus. He wanted to encourage him to persevere when times were difficult.

We read, “… how from childhood you had been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus”. Timothy had the privilege of been taught God’s word by his mother and grandmother, so never underestimate your influence in any child’s life.

Timothy was personally convinced of the truth of God’s word. Paul also exhorted him to remember all that he had taught him from the Scriptures, as well as what he had endured for the sake of the Gospel.

Let us seek to be a good influence and an encouragement to someone along life’s journey.
