Highlighting the Impact of our Overseas Ministry Programme (OMP) in 2024

By James Farmer (OMP Coordinator)

It’s a great joy and privilege for me to facilitate the network of LMI’s overseas partnerships. Whilst we are, of course, separated by thousands of miles and multiple time zones, thanks to modern technology I am able to keep in contact with LMI’s partners across the world. Staying connected with our partners helps us to support them in the best possible way. In recent times, we have been able to assist with the printing of translated resources for discipleship in both Kenya and Rwanda, with the latter also receiving funds for the distribution of Bibles. We have also been able to support some great work elsewhere in Africa, including the building of a toilet block for a refugee children’s school in Uganda.

Moreover, we have sponsored the promotion of micro-enterprise for mission through the provision of seed money for two new initiatives in Burundi. In the Rumonge province, Elias received funding to establish an agricultural project, which will support the work of the newly established missions training centre, Beersheba House. In Bujumbura, Audace and Immacule were given start-up funds to enable their agri-food transformation project, with proceeds being used to help finance mission work in South Sudan and northern Kenya.

In addition to these efforts with our African partners, we have also been able to invest in some impactful work in Asia, such as the construction of a new church meeting place for believers in Bangladesh. Furthermore, we have been able to support church leaders in Nepal by sponsoring indigenous leadership seminars.

We have also continued with relief provisions for persecuted Christians in a northern state of India, including the provision of audiovisual equipment for our partner there. Whilst he is not currently in the state, thanks to this new equipment, he is able to securely record Bible teaching content to equip the church in these difficult days. Not only that, but we have also stepped in with support in response to flooding at a missions training centre in Myanmar.

Additionally, this summer, as in previous years, we provided funds to help towards the sponsorship of a children’s Holiday Bible Club in central Hungary. Forty children participated over the course of the week, being taught the Gospel message through the Wordless Book.

As it stands, we have14 partners located across the world, each of whom lives in a completely unique setting, which presents its own set of challenges and opportunities for Gospel growth. Maintaining strong relationships and regular contact with each of our partners allows us to provide the most suitable support for each situation. Thanks to your invaluable help and partnership, together we have the privilege of being able to support the Church across the world in this way.

Looking Ahead to 2025

It is our earnest desire to be able to sustain the immensely valuable assistance given to LMI’s overseas partners into 2025.God willing, we hope to send more teams to conduct teaching and training, and we also plan to continue to support physical and spiritual needs of churches and communities connected to our partners as they arise. However, to do this, we need your help.

Please prayerfully consider sending a one-off donation or becoming a regular partner of our Overseas Ministry Programme www.lmi-org.net/support-overseas-ministry-programme. Your investment will have far-reaching effects! Thank you.
