The new year brings with it many things, one of which is a new school term. Whilst, for pupils, this may not exactly spark joy, our Youth & Schools Outreach (YSO) Team are excited to get back into work. With a busy term ahead, filled with school visits, youth groups and weekends away, we would really appreciate your prayers.

We’re thankful to God for opening so many wonderful doors of opportunity for our team to impact young people with biblical truth. Particularly exciting this term is the number of weekend programmes – either with school S.U. or church youth groups – that we have in the calendar. These weekends offer amazing opportunities for discipleship and can have a huge impact on the spiritual journey of the young people who attend. Separated from their normal routines, young people are able to engage with God’s Word in a systematic and intensive way over the course of the weekend, which is incredible for developing and strengthening their faith.

A sneak peek of what 2025 has in store:

  • Royal Belfast Academical Institution (RBAI) CU Weekend: 24th – 26th January
  • Greenisland Baptist: 7th – 9th February
  • Ardstraw Presbyterian: 14th – 16th February
  • Elmwood Presbyterian: 28th Feb – 2nd March
  • Aughnacloy Presbyterian: 7th – 9th March
  • Rathfriland Baptist: 11th – 13th April
  • Iron Hall: 25th – 27th April

In addition to these programmes, we are also very thankful to have two brand-new school openings: Devenish College in Enniskillen and Cambridge House Grammar in Ballymena. The team will be sharing at the S.U. groups in both schools towards the start of the year – the junior and senior groups in Devenish over two weeks (26th February and 5th March) and in Cambridge House S.U. on the 27th of February.

Please pray that these visits will be a springboard to further ministry in both schools and that they will become a regular part of the YSO calendar.

From post-primary to tertiary!

In the past two academic years, our Youth & Schools Outreach Coordinator, Danny Roberts, has had various invitations to work with Queen’s University Belfast’s Christian Union – sharing his testimony and being part of a Q&A panel.

On the 7th of February, Danny will be back at Queen’s C.U. to share his testimony once again, this time as part of the C.U.’s ‘mission week’. Pray that many will be challenged by Danny’s story and that, through the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit, students will be brought into a saving and life-transforming relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

Join us in praising God for all these kingdom opportunities and please also partner with us as we commit them to Him in prayer.

Thank you!
