Hope Is Here Devotional | Day Twelve

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6 KJV

Philippians is a book that is full of hope. It was written by Paul for the purpose of encouraging the believers in the church in their faith, and also to thank them for their continued support. The interesting thing is that Paul wrote the book while he was in prison, so he could very easily have felt sorry for himself. And yet, throughout the letter, what we read is full of joy! Hope Is Here Devotional | Day Nine

I found myself thinking about the title of this series. It reminds us that hope is here – it is right before us and present, if we only look for it and have the faith to accept it.

In this world, there may be those feeling hopeless, feeling there is ‘no light at the end of the tunnel’ for their own personal situation, and yet … Jesus gives light to the darkest of places.

Light and dark are opposites. In the light, we see our way clearly, while in the dark, we stumble and fall. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12 ESV). What a wonderful promise is found in this verse!
